Sylwester Janik, elected BAS President on 5th of November 2007, has served on BAS Managment Board previously. His experience coupled with his devotion to the organisation make him a perfect captain for our team!

Sylwester Janik received the Chevening J. Conrad Scholarship in 2001 and studied towards his MBA in Strategic Management of Technology and e-business at Cass Business School, London. He is a graduate of Gdańsk University (Faculty of Economics and Faculty of Management). Sylwester has more than 10 years experience in management consulting, business development, M&A and venture capital investments. He has recently joined MCI SA, the leading Central European Private Equity group. His new role is Associate Partner, responsible for co-management of the group's technology venture capital fund and development of new investment products for corporate Clients. Prior to this he was Director of Strategy & Development at ATM SA, Polish IT stock listed company, where he also managed the company’s corporate venturing program. He was also a VicePresident of mPay – ATM’s portfolio company, that has launched a mobile payment service in Poland. Prior to ATM SA, Sylwester worked as management consultant, project manager and director of business development for such companies as PricewaterhouseCoopers, London, UK and Lockheed Martin in Poland. Sylwester has also significant strategic insight into VC & PE technology investments and experience of new business development.
BAS President scope of responsibility:
- managing BAS Management Board activities,
- representing BAS [public/important events; documents etc.],
- monitoring development and implementation of BAS strategy,
- building and managing strategic relationships with the British Council, the Embassy and other Partners,
- overseeing international relationships.
