On the 18th of December 2009 the Annual General Meeting of the British Alumni Society elected 10 people to the new Managment Board.

The British Alumni Society Annual General Meeting elected Sylwester Janik as the President and Karol Lasocki as Vice-President of the Society. This year, voting was based on a campaign conducted by the candidates, who presented their election programmes for BAS development in the future. Apart from Karol and Sylwester, the members voted for Krzysztof M. Piskorski as Membership Benefits Officer, Ola Męcińska as Communications and Liaisons Officer, Leszek Jędrych as Finance and Fundraising Officer and Mariusz Markisz as Auxiliary Member responsible for Development. Fryderyk Popiel-Schneider, Marzena Reich and Agnieszka Kiełtyka were elected as Board Members.

Their mission is to make BAS a thriving society for all its members, to fulfil our motto "networking for success". This will be achieved through implementing a strategy of development proposed by the previous Managment Board, focusing on Regional and Interest Groups, as well as expanding our network of external and institutional contacts. Following the changes in BAS staute approved by members at the AGM, two bodies will support the Board in achieving their goals - the Honorary Committee and the Advisory Committee.

The board would also like to stress the importance of members involvment in BAS activities. The Open Meetings inaugurated last March, will now continue as a monthly event organised in Warsaw, to which all are welcome. However, there is also a strong commitment to the development of Sports and to the promotion of social events organised by members themselves, so please watch this space.
